Abstract: To evaluate the efficacy of keratacx 355 ° intrastromal corneal ring segment (ICRS) implantation using manual technique in patients diagnosed with progressive keratoconus.

Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, 26 eyes with keratoconus in Bina eye hospital from 2017 to 2019 were enrolled and underwent implantation. Then the visual acuity (including UCVA and BSCVA), refraction (including sphere, cylinder), corneal topography findings were compared before and on average seven months after surgery. Also paired T-test was conducted to compare the mean differences.

Results: Generally, improvement in the obtained parameters including UCVA, BSCVA, sphere, cylinder, Kmax, and Kmin was statistically significant (P = 0.001) except for the thinnest corneal point (P = 0.946) and central corneal thickness (CCT) (P = 0.701) respectively. Also, no patient experienced any intra or postoperative complications.

Conclusion: According to the obtained results it may be concluded that keratacx 355 ° ring is effective and safe in the treatment of the patients with keratoconus and the use of this ring is recommended.
